Michał Kubiak bitterly criticizes the Polish national team. "We can say it's cool."

For Saturday's VNL 2025 semifinal, former Polish national volleyball team captain Michał Kubiak was a guest in the Polsat Sport studio. The host is known for speaking his mind, regardless of the situation. This time, Kubiak spoke about Poland's chances of defeating Italy in the Nations League final .

Admittedly, these weren't exactly encouraging words. The 2014 and 2018 world champion focused primarily on the quality of the Polish national team's distribution. Or, to use less technical language, how the Polish team plays the ball.

"Of course, we can say it's great because we won the last two matches 3-0, but to make things a little less rosy, I'll say that with the distribution we've seen today, we won't win against Italy tomorrow. I think we're playing a very archaic, wing-based volleyball style, and one pipe per match is unfortunately not enough. I think we lack creativity, and I wonder how much of that is dictated by the coach's preferences," Kubiak admitted, as quoted on the Polsat Sport website.

Let us add that in the 2025 season, the duo of Marcin Komenda and Jan Firlej will be responsible for playing in the VNL final tournament.

VNL 2025: Poland vs. Italy for the gold medals! When and where to watch the final?

The final clash between Poland and Italy for the gold medal of the VNL 2025 will start on Sunday (i.e. August 3) at 1:00 p.m. Polish time.

Italy defeated Slovenia 3-1 in the semifinals, and Poland defeated Brazil in three sets. This will be a match between the European champions and the world champions.

All matches of the VNL 2025 men's volleyball final tournament will be broadcast on Polsat Sport. Additionally, matches of the Polish national team will be included in the schedule of the open-source Polsat channel. Online broadcasts will be available on the Polsat Box Go platform.
